How It Works

Frequency equals the speed of light divided by wavelength: f = c / λ, where c = 299,792,458 m/s (exact, SI-defined).

This is an inverse relationship — shorter wavelength means higher frequency. Visible light at ~600 nm has a frequency of ~500 THz, while a 30 cm radio wave has a frequency of ~1 GHz.
