What are the first 50 multiples of 4
What is a multiple in math?
The multiple of a number is the product of this number by any other number (0, 1, 2, 3, ...).
Our calculator works on the set of natural numbers, but there are multiples in the set of numbers, integers, real, etc. Therefore, a multiple can also be negative.
For example, 12 can be divided by 3 without a reminder. Like this, 12 is a multiple of 4 because 3 times 4 equals 12. In other words, we can say that 12 is a multiple of 3 because there is a natural - 3 - which multiplied by 4 equals 12. The statement '12 is a multiple of 3' is equivalent to '12 is divisible by 3', or that 3 is a divider of 12.
So, to find the multiples of 4, simply multiply this number by a number of the set of natural numbers as many times as we want. See below how to do it for the number 4:
- 4 x 0 = 0, so 0 is a multiple of 4.
- 4 x 1 = 4, so 4 is a multiple of 4.
- 4 x 2 = 8, so 8 is a multiple of 4.
- 4 x 3 = 12, so 12 is a multiple of 4.
- 4 x 4 = 16, so 16 is a multiple of 4.
- 4 x 5 = 20, so 20 is a multiple of 4.
- 4 x 6 = 24, so 24 is a multiple of 4.
- 4 x 7 = 28, so 28 is a multiple of 4.
- 4 x 8 = 32, so 32 is a multiple of 4.
- 4 x 9 = 36, so 36 is a multiple of 4.
- 4 x 10 = 40, so 40 is a multiple of 4.
- 4 x 11 = 44, so 44 is a multiple of 4.
- 4 x 12 = 48, so 48 is a multiple of 4.
- 4 x 13 = 52, so 52 is a multiple of 4.
- 4 x 14 = 56, so 56 is a multiple of 4.
- 4 x 15 = 60, so 60 is a multiple of 4.
- 4 x 16 = 64, so 64 is a multiple of 4.
- 4 x 17 = 68, so 68 is a multiple of 4.
- 4 x 18 = 72, so 72 is a multiple of 4.
- 4 x 19 = 76, so 76 is a multiple of 4.
- 4 x 20 = 80, so 80 is a multiple of 4.
- 4 x 21 = 84, so 84 is a multiple of 4.
- 4 x 22 = 88, so 88 is a multiple of 4.
- 4 x 23 = 92, so 92 is a multiple of 4.
- 4 x 24 = 96, so 96 is a multiple of 4.
- 4 x 25 = 100, so 100 is a multiple of 4.
- 4 x 26 = 104, so 104 is a multiple of 4.
- 4 x 27 = 108, so 108 is a multiple of 4.
- 4 x 28 = 112, so 112 is a multiple of 4.
- 4 x 29 = 116, so 116 is a multiple of 4.
- 4 x 30 = 120, so 120 is a multiple of 4.
- 4 x 31 = 124, so 124 is a multiple of 4.
- 4 x 32 = 128, so 128 is a multiple of 4.
- 4 x 33 = 132, so 132 is a multiple of 4.
- 4 x 34 = 136, so 136 is a multiple of 4.
- 4 x 35 = 140, so 140 is a multiple of 4.
- 4 x 36 = 144, so 144 is a multiple of 4.
- 4 x 37 = 148, so 148 is a multiple of 4.
- 4 x 38 = 152, so 152 is a multiple of 4.
- 4 x 39 = 156, so 156 is a multiple of 4.
- 4 x 40 = 160, so 160 is a multiple of 4.
- 4 x 41 = 164, so 164 is a multiple of 4.
- 4 x 42 = 168, so 168 is a multiple of 4.
- 4 x 43 = 172, so 172 is a multiple of 4.
- 4 x 44 = 176, so 176 is a multiple of 4.
- 4 x 45 = 180, so 180 is a multiple of 4.
- 4 x 46 = 184, so 184 is a multiple of 4.
- 4 x 47 = 188, so 188 is a multiple of 4.
- 4 x 48 = 192, so 192 is a multiple of 4.
- 4 x 49 = 196, so 196 is a multiple of 4.
The first 50 multiples of 4 are: 0, 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24, 28, 32, 36, 40, 44, 48, 52, 56, 60, 64, 68, 72, 76, 80, 84, 88, 92, 96, 100, 104, 108, 112, 116, 120, 124, 128, 132, 136, 140, 144, 148, 152, 156, 160, 164, 168, 172, 176, 180, 184, 188, 192, 196.
Facts About Multiples
- Any number is a multiple of itself (n x 1 = n).
- Any number is a multiple of 1 (1 x n = n).
- Zero is a multiple of any number (0 x n = 0).
- The set of multiples of a number is an infinite set since we can get this by multiplying the number given by all the natural numbers. The set of multiples of n can be represented by M n = {0 x n, 1 x n, 2 x n, 3 x n, 4 x n, ...} (where n is any natural). For example, the set of multiples of 4 is represented as M 4 Sub> = {0, 4,8,12,16, ...}.
Common Multiples
If two numbers are multiplied, then the product is a common multiple of these two numbers.
Example: if two numbers, 4 and 3, are multiplied, then the result, 12, is a common multiple of 4 and 3.
Note: The product of these two numbers is not necessarily the least common multiple-LCM of these numbers.
